The Malta International Air Show 2013

A large variety of military and civilian airplanes could be seen at the Malta International Airport last weekend. The Malta International Show has been holding for the 21 times in a row.

And since we consider our blog being fashion related, we simply don' t have a right to skip featuring the latest launches from the central fashion Meccas. Why?

When last week we were asked to attend a charity dinner benefiting Reaching Out, a charity organization based in Malta, we jumped at the opportunity.

So here's what happened. Our good friend Eman Pulis was talking passionately about this charity organisation, 'Reaching Out' www.reachingoutmalta.com, which builds schools and clinics for underprivileged children in the village of Bulbula, Ethiopia.

Marsovin Summer Wine Festival

Last friday we went along to the Marsovin Wine Festival which took place at Hastings Gardens, Valletta (which we’ ve somehow never seen before, eager to announce - beautiful place with a breathtaking open view!).

Today' s post will be different. The reason is simple, it's dedicated to our motherland, "mother-Russia"-as foreigners over here would say and we don' t mind, "mother" indeed! :-)

Lana, who happened to leave Malta for Moscow for 2 weeks, took an advantage of being there and visited some must-see spots of our capital.The first place she popped in was the infamous Moscow Zoo (the first Zoo in Russia).

Sliema

This time we decided to tell you about not the less adorable town among both tourists and locals - Sliema, which experienced the boom-construction in the second half of the XIX century, when the wealthy residents of the city Valletta started to build their summer residences here. Currently on the site of a small fishing village the town was formed which is an important shopping and leasure center of the island. Sliema has a vast concentration of hotels, shops, and English language schools, loads of local residents (and tourists) are willing to buy or rent apartments here.

Once the Malta Fashion Week had got over, we hastened to catch up with Robert Galea for a chat and a cup of coffee in a very friendly atmosphere.

With 26 years of age, this man has conquered the main catwalks of Malta, his face appears on billboards and magazines of the country. But apart from that, the titles, Robert keeps being granted with (twice Best Male Model 2012-2013, Mr. World Malta 2012), prove his real male ideal reference.

Malta Fashion Awards 2013

The culmination of Mercedes-Benz Fashion week happened on Saturday 11th of May. Malta' s style set descended at MFCC in Ta' Qali to celebrate the 2013 Maltese Fashion Awards. Red carpet was placed, guests re invited, awards re ahead and the nominees' re hanging around fulfilled with the excitement. Within many hours the wings were buzzing to create a memorable show of the most anticipated event.

During the Fashion Week maltese fashionistas had a chance to enjoy the displays of both distinguished compatriots and newcomers of the industry, and show of international designers. For the first time ever, the magnificent Auberge de Castille was hosting a superb fashion show of five international designers with the kind support and under the patronage of Ms Michelle Muscat (the wife of the Prime Minister of Malta), who undoubtedly has a flair for subtle style.
Well, a few brief words about the designers of the eve:

Naturally New Designers Show is quite intriguing for the audience and incredibly exciting process for new participants of the fashion world. Most of the collections are revealed to the public for the first time and the impression they convey means a lot.

The show turned out to be bright and bold. Some of the newbies definetely amazed us!

That evening we managed to penitrate behind the scene where in spite of the participants' agitation, a very positive and friendly atmosphere reigned over. We tried to pass the mood of it through the pictures and really hope we succeeded. But first let us introduse you the designers of the show.

The first show of Malta Fashion Week 2013 was presented by Farage Paris, who demonstrated a fabulous collection of exuberant wedding gowns at a truly stumptious venue - The Xara Palace in Rabat.

Fashion Photography Exhibition is presented as part of Malta Fashion Week 2013 and based at the central square Pjazza San Gorg in Valletta.

St.Julians

The idea to commence a particular item, called "Toylike country" and devoted to exploration of the island and covering it on the blog from our perspective, blew in almost immediatly. All we needed is to follow up the view-statistics and it revealed quite curious and flattering (pleasant) outcome-we are read by people from all over the world. We reckon the reason is pretty massive to start telling about maltese cities, towns, places must-to-visit, interesting facts of the country and so on. Definitely it could be tempting for those prospective visitors who are seeking for new bright and adventerous routes of their lives.

Not a secret that maltese love to celebrate a decent amount of food festivals throughout the year. For most of them it's a way of coming together as a community and cheering the things which unite them.
Today was probably the loveliest fest we have ever visited. Not a surprise though - we are always up to indulge ourselves in tasty treats :-)
