Not a secret that maltese love to celebrate a decent amount of food festivals throughout the year. For most of them it's a way of coming together as a community and cheering the things which unite them.
Today was probably the loveliest fest we have ever visited. Not a surprise though - we are always up to indulge ourselves in tasty treats :-)
We' ve arrived to Mgarr (tiny farming village in the north of the island which is swarmed upon by thousands of hungry festival-goers each year) at midday. Amazing summer weather luckly coincided with a range of special activities where anyony could participate in one way or another. Folk and ethnic music performed by maltese artists, dance troupes provided fitting entertainment for this unique celebration of maltese agricultural heritage. Painting competition, some fun games organized by a dedicated team of animators kept the little ones busy. And of course, plenty of freshly picked strawberries kept everyone's stomaches full and excited :-) Apart of the berry all fest visitors easily could come across a wide variety of desserts, snacks, gourmet dishes filled with the main ingredient of the day, among which: cakes, waffles, pancakes, tarts, non-alcoholic cocktails and so on.
To cut a long story short, Festa Frawli is one of those maltese events to get your grub on next year.
And for now, another sweet day is over... but more different ones are ahead!
Follow us! Enjoy with us and stay tuned!
Truly yours,
two russians from Malta - Mira and Lana.
